Personality Profile: Narcisa has a natural distrust of just about everyone, but she despises non-mutants. She is often bitchy and in a dark mood, but going by her background, can she really be blamed? Under the monster, she is very keen and very reliable. A friend is a friend until death, but an enemy would be wise to steer clear.
Physical Description: Narcisa has large, black bat-like wings that she can use to fly great distances. Sprouting from her forehead, just over her temples, are two black horns that curl up and back like ram's horns. Usually, she hides these to avoid a completely demonic appearance. Her feet are large, cloven hooves. She is fond of keeping her wings, when they're visible, folded over her like a long coat.

Mutation/Powers:
Primary : Flight: Narcisa has large, black, bat-like wings that she can use to fly great distances. She is not a supernaturally fast flyer, but her flight speed is comparable to that of a small bird of prey during a full dive. She cannot hover.
Secondary : Energy Drain: Her hands are conduits for an energy drain ability, which both exhausts the target and rejuvenates her. This is her "preferred" method of feeding, but she is still able to consume regular food. The target can feel one of two sensations, depending on their view of her. If they are frightened, the drain is painful and leaves them exhausted for days afterwards. If they are not afraid or enamored, the drain is pleasant, like the fuzzy sensation of a narcotic high. The drain can be fatal if contact is prolonged.
Tertiary : Minimal Shapeshifting: Narcisa can hide any two of her features at a time, but only two. Meaning, she can hide her horns -and- her wings, but not her horns, wings, and hooves. The features simply become invisible and intangible. This ability can be kept up for no more than a few hours at a time. She usually hides her wings and horns, but leaves her hooves as they are while wearing long pants or skirts.
Drawbacks/Weaknesses/Side Effects : Flying is hard work, and can be very tiring if she overtaxes herself. Her wings are delicate and as such can only support her weight. She cannot carry anything over 20 pounds while in flight. The energy drain is such a rush that there is the very distinct possibility for addiction if she uses it too much. The drain can be triggered involuntarily if she is in danger or emotionally disturbed. She now wears gloves on her hands to keep from accidentally draining someone. She cannot always hide herself, either. If she is tired or has already used the ability for more than a couple hours, her features will start reappearing. Her eyes look normal when she is not using any abilities, including her limited shapeshifting, but when any of these is active, they glow a bright, silvery blue that shows through even dark sunglasses.
How do you believe this character's powers will further develop in the future? Hopefully, she will learn to better hone her drain ability and avoid becoming addicted to the power's high-inducing state. Also, she may in time be able to disguise all her features at once, or at least minimize the glow of her eyes to appear more normal.
Background: Narcisa does not know when she was born. Her birth occurred not in a hospital, not with a midwife, but in the midst of a Chorazos Cult ritual to attempt to summon a dark, unspeakable god. The timing was completely coincidental, but it would alter the course of her life forever. When she emerged, bearing rudimentary bat-like wings, tiny cloven hooves, and two nubs on her forehead that would later turn into curving ram-like horns, the cult members took it as a sign that they had been blessed with an embodiment of their god. They kept Narcisa in strict seclusion, using her blood for rituals and idols, and hid her away from the world. They gave her the name 'Daciana,' which in Romanian and Gaelic is similar to words for "wicked" and "evil." Only the highest cult priests had access to her, and they taught her to read and write, but only religious texts of many kinds. Thusly, she is well-versed in world religions, from Sumerian mythology to Islam, but follows none of them. She hated her imprisonment, but her guards kept watch over her night and day, and hobbled her wings so that she could not fly. The tattered bottom edges of her wings bear the scars of such measures to keep her locked away.
UPDATE: Narcisa recently learned, from a distant relative, that she was born in 1971, making her 40 years old. The reasons for her longevity have yet to be explained.
Narcisa eventually escaped. When it came time for her to be present at a cult ritual, she was marched from her prison to a sanctuary under cover of darkness. She had been exercising her wings for months beforehand, stretching them as far as the chains would allow, and flexing them to build their strength. When she emerged outside, she whipped her wings outward, ripping the chains from them, and bolted. Her guardians tried to catch her, but when she moved to defend herself, laying her hands on them, they appeared to have all the energy sucked out of them. It made her feel incredibly powerful and rejuvenated, and it gave her the strength to take flight. She fled to Italy, nearly dropping out of the sky when she got there. For many years, she lived there in seclusion, only daring to venture out at night. Rumors whispered that a demon lived in Rome. She stole what she needed to survive, and read books that had been discarded in private and public trash bins. It was from these books she learned other scholastic skills, like math and science. She learned about the great old US of A, and thought she might have a chance there. She stowed away on a cargo ship, and arrived in the Florida Keys in 2010. She lived in fear of humans, and those who saw her lived in fear of the winged demon woman, who came in the night and stole their spirits away.
Earlier this year, she read a newspaper article that mentioned Cobalt Academy. She refused to even entertain the thought, because everyone thus far treated her like a thing, something to be used and feared, and nothing more. But when anti-mutant riots began in Miami, and crowds of thugs began searching for anyone a little different, both day -and- night, she was left with little choice. She couldn't keep living in hiding, and she couldn't drain everyone she came across. She traveled at night, flying up the coast, until she arrived in Salem. Now... perhaps she might have a chance to survive.
Quirks, Extras, Random Character Facts: Narcisa is fluent in Romanian, Greek, Italian, Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, and American Sign Language, all self taught, aside from Romanian, which is her Native Language. She also has twelve fingers instead of just ten. Makes buying gloves quite the ordeal!
