Personality Profile: Jack LaCroix is what many, including the tabloid newspapers call the spoiled playboy. The son of a wealthy business man and heir to a vast family fortune Jack as has always gotten whatever it is that he desired from fast cars to faster women. There is little in his life that he has been denied as the handsome young son of his wealthy father. He adores partying and having fun and shrugs off all responsibility of ever taking over the family business instead choosing to spend his time drinking and partying with beautiful young women all to eager to chase after the family fortune. He is deeply troubled since the emergence of his powers, however, he attempts to hide it behind a smart ass, charming, facade that he puts on in front of everyone.
Physical Description: Jack is most often seen wearing an expensive suit of Armani make in various colors, but his favorites seem to be a deep charcoal grey for the slacks and jacket. A blue silk button down shirt worn underneath of that unbuttoned slightly to show off a bit of chest along with a pair of fine Italian leather loafers. His blond hair is worn short and slightly untamed as is the fashion for most of his age. He has a fresh growth of slightly darker blond hair along a squared and handsome jawline and charming, mirthful, steel blue eyes. He's young and trim mostly from working
out while he was attending his private school to make the football team and helping him to keep his muscular, athletic build.

Mutation Powers: Property Absorption
Primary: Property Absorption - This allows Jack to touch an object and temporarily (say 30 minutes to an hour or even shorter whatever is acceptable) gain it's properties. This currently works for him with most inanimate objects. For example if he touches the road and absorbs the properties of the asphalt his skin and body take on the hardness and density of the asphalt itself. This is a benefit and a hindrance right now as Jack is also slowed and his movements limited by the properties of the things he absorbs. Right now the toughest substance he has been able to master is steel. He cannot as of yet absorb the properties of a diamond. He also cannot currently take on the properties of most liquids. He has he begun to attempt it with water as a means of defense but as of it he can't quite seem to take on the properties of liquids at all. He also cannot, for instance, absorb electricity or anything of the sort. It generally has to be a solid, inanimate object at the moment for him to be able to use his power.
Secondary: Super Strength - Whenever he takes on the properties of another material his body also becomes super strong allowing him to cope with it's new density and mass. He is not, as of yet, incredibly powerful. He could perhaps at this point under great strain manage to lift a car at his maximum output level of strength at the moment and he only has this strength when he is in his transformed state after absorbing the properties of some material.

Drawbacks/Weakness: Jack at the moment is overly confident. He uses this to mask how terrified he is about these strange abilities and that over confidence can often come off as arrogance or get him into trouble quickly. He can also have a quick temper and when pushed repeatedly angers easily. As mentioned before, Jack cannot seem to master the properties of water even when frozen solid as ice. This is due to trauma most likely as he nearly drowned in a car wreck when he was 10 years old. Also when he uses his powers, his movement speed is slowed by up to roughly 25% (more if needed) depending on the properties of the material he absorbed.
How do you believe his powers will evolve?: I see Jack's powers as becoming more reliable, lasting longer, his strength growing to greater levels to allow him to overcome the loss of mobility and speed movement that he currently suffers when he uses his powers and eventually learning to master absorbing other materials up the durability of diamond with great training and after a long time of practicing and learning to master his power.
Background: As mentioned, Jack is suffering from several issues. He puts on a brave, cocky, charming front to hide how disturbed and afraid and alone he feels at the moment due to the development of his powers. He pretends to think and to some extent he does think that is 'cool' to have superpowers.But at the same time he still feels a kid, not some spandex wearing super hero out to save the day. His powers first manifested themselves during an incident at his private school. One of the other young boys was attempting to start a fight with him. It was one of Jack's chief rivals in the school. At the time he was putting up his books when the boy shoved his face into his locker and began to assault him. Jack's power manifested and his body became larger and thicker taking on the properties and hardness of the metal locker.
The boy assaulting him did learn this until he broke his hand with a metal clang against Jack's back. Jack just as freaked out as the rest fled from the school crashing through one of the stone walls. He ended up at home sometime later and his father made a huge donation to repair and fund the school's new library to keep it out of the media. He then learned of Cobalt Academy and has sent Jack there in the hopes that his son can be 'cured' of what he views as his disease. Jack, as mentioned, is unhappy with all of this but putting on a brave face and keeping that cocky, arrogant, charming attitude up as a facade in front of everyone to mask his real emotions.
