Personality Profile: Nobody really knows what goes in on Matias' mind. In the public eye, he is a stoic and highly professional individual, not at all keen on sugarcoating things and quick to deliver justice on those who would seek to wrong him or those he cares about. What he is not, however, is a tyrant; he is well aware of the plight that mutants of a whole go through and tries to make things as easy as possible for the students under his wing, though he is by no means a pushover.
Physical Description: While not particukarly imposing, Matias carries himself in a way that commands respect. He rarely looks down on people, unless they deserve it, his gray eyes going from warm to cold in an instant. It's unusual for him to be seen in anything but a suit, and he does have a bit of grown-out facial hair, though it is always kept neat.

Mutation/Powers: Ferrokinetics
Primary : Metal Creation - Matias bears the ability conjure shards, chunks, slabs, bits and pieces of metal at will, seemingly out of thin air. He finds that he may only create types of metal that he has previous touched.
Secondary : Metal Control - The ability to shape and manipulate metal; his control is so fine that that he can draw metallic minerals forth from the depths of the earth.
Tertiary : Metal Body - A blink-of-an-eye shapechange into a form composed completely out of a morphic metallic alloy with several times the durability and hardness of steel -- it approaches diamond levels, but not quite adamantium levels. While usually controlled, this power can activate upon instinct.
By combining his abilities, he can use this form to create spikes, chains, and various other bits of deadly weaponry extending from his limbs.
Drawbacks/Weaknesses : He can't swim. No, really. Magnets also prove problematic at times.
Background: Author and former prominent mutant rights activist turned political liason who somehow got roped into heading a college full of mutants. He bit and clawed his way to the top and has no intentions of hitting the bottom and is known to have attended a mutant-centric school in New York state. He has written several books on mutant-human relations and the issues with being an 'outed' mutant. After the incidents leading up to the school being re-purposed into a sanctum, his job changed from handling students to making sure the facility runs smoothly, putting him in charge of things like budget management, dealing with META, and generally working feverishly behind the scenes at all hours of the day.
Following an attack on the Sanctum by the (presumed) queen of faeries that almost took his life, Santiago evaluated his ability to run the Sanctum and keep its residents safe. He has quietly stepped down from his post and has headed for parts unknown.
Quirks/Extras (Random fun facts about your character!): He kept a studded wooden paddle, affectionately named "Ol' Painless" on his desk. It was just for decoration.
