Name: Darius Vaughn
Codename: Dissonance
Age: 35
Date of Birth: 9.22
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 225 lbs.
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Gray
Place of Origin: Boston, MA
Nationality/Race: Caucasian
Classification: Mutant
Status: Villain
Occupation: Mutant Supremacy Advocator, Public Speaker
Personality Profile: At a glance, friendly, charismatic, a man with a good sense of humor. He seems to enjoy a stroll in the park and feeding pigeons or reading by lamplight. Aside from this, he is a cold and calculating man who will go to any lengths to see his goals accomplished. He sees most humans as utter scum and reveres anyone with powers -- until they cross him.
Physical Description: Surprisingly tall with adequate toning though he is not over-muscled, his dark brown hair is often combed back neatly and he sports a trimmed goatee and thin, rectangular glasses. He is indistinguishable from your average white-collar employee on a good day.
---------------------------------
Powerset: Psi Mastery
Ability One: Illusion Casting - Darius is imbued with the ability to create illusions of all sort, specializing in realistic projections that trick the mind into believing they are nothing less than real.
His specialty is to create illusions that seem to make the target's allies appear as their enemies, ready to attack and kill them at a moment's notice. The effect lasts around twenty in-game minutes.
Ability Two: Telekinetic Reactions - While Telekinesis is not the strongest of Darius's powers, he has trained himself to some extent to better protect himself. This telekinesis works at extremely close range, and has various effects such as stopping bullets in mid-air, blocking attacks with invisible walls of force, and more rarely allowing him to leap with surprising quickness and height by using a burst of telekinetic force.
Ability Three: Thought Sanction - Darius's mental abilities have been honed to give him a sort of mental radar, that informs him of any action that someone around him is about to perform. By locking onto the thought that generates the action he can stop the person in his tracks. The ability is too focused to allow him to do more than stop a person's action, and the strain it causes on Darius depends on both the complexity of the action and the will of the other person involved. It is possible to use this ability on multiple people of weaker will, but only if it the same general action; ie, a mob shouting and throwing things, a firing line about to fire, and so on.
Drawbacks & Weaknesses: Darius' powers are slowly driving him insane due to the intense strain they place on his mind. He is no stronger than any other man and must (and does) train and exercise to keep in shape. Often hears voices. Powers are mentally exhausting.
Projected Power Growth & Development: Darius' powers are thought to have reached their full potential, though he may learn to use them in conjunction with one another.
Skills: Public speaking, political knowhow, the art of manipulation
Background: Darius had a rather average childhood. His parents were mutant-sympathizers, which drew the ire of many. His powers, though not a source of shame, were concealed. His parents were the victims of a hate crime, killed in public riot during Darius'S first year of college. Since then, he has tried spreading 'tolerance', masking his true motives to help mutants and all powered individuals rise above.
Criminal Record: Loitering, assault, public disturbance
Quirks, Extras, Random Character Facts:
x Darius is a gambler, dealing in cards, dice and lives.
x LOVES videogames.
x Keeps a journal which he writes in nightly, sometimes coupling coherent thoughts with rambling and chickenscratch which chronicles his slow descent into madness.
x Has an albino burmese python named Missy.
