What to Look For in Character Submissions

I'm sure you've all thought of this, but to tell you the truth, I haven't, so I'm making a little thing of checkpoints to look for in submitted character sheets before approving them, mostly for my own use, but feel free to reference it too.

• What are the applications of this power? What can they do with it? Be sure it isn't vague.
• If applicable, what is the range on the power? Line of sight?
• If applicable, what is the length of the power's duration?
• What are the power's practical limitations? If applicable, what can/can't it be used on or for?
• Are there enough drawbacks to offset the power? Do they actually 'match' the power or are they using heightened metabolism as a catch-all?
• Are the characters powers related to one another in at least some way? They do not have to match completely, but fitting some kind of theme would be helpful.
• Does the character overall seem imbalanced?

I will personally be using this list when looking over submissions so that I don't wind up accidentally approving things that have no business being approved anymore. If I find myself answering negatively to most questions, I'll be voting down the submission.
