Mutation/Powers:
Primary : Heat. His hands radiate intense heat that at the minimal level can cause first degree burns on peoples flesh. If he concentrates on this he is able to focus the heat into a stream, compressing the energy into a 'beam' that can melt through metal at a distance of twenty-five. The further away the object the less affective this ability is. The beam is two feet in diameter. Not all objects are vulnerable to heat though. Cement for example. Items such as those that can't be melted his waves have no affect on.
Secondary : Heat immunity. Heat coming from either himself or others/other objects does not affect him. This is his bodies way of protecting itself from what it does.
Tertiary : None Yet
Drawbacks/Weaknesses : He must -always- wear special made gloves that keep the heat contained so no one around him will be harmed. This means even during sleep and showering so he doesn't end up hurting others or his surroundings. The 'beam' can make him grow tired and because of this he can only substain it for a maximum of six or seven minutes before growing dizzy and quite possibly passing out.
How do you believe this character's powers will further develop in the future? I'm not exactly sure. Possibly he can further the affectiveness to long distance heat beams or even pin point it better so that it will one day work to the point of a scaple in its use but this would take a lot of practice and power development.
Background: His power didn't always work the way it did now. At first he was not immune to his own heat waves and would find blisters on his body from where his hands would rest during the night. Once it even caused a fire as his hands were on his blankets during sleep. Seeing as how his powers first came to be during his sleep he was very confused, as was his father who raised him. It was during an over night sleep study that it was discovered what he could do. Until they could figure out what to do he was put into a holding cell alone that was made for mutants with problematic abilities. Over the next few days he noticed that it wasn't during just the night any more, during the day his ability started to manifest as well. Without anything to stop it and unable to control its direction it was burning not only himself but any nurses that came in to check on him. Infuriated that human contact was cut off the heat waves intensified and it was during this first intensification that his body developed the immunity to his ability. A focused wave of two feet in diameter shot from his hands in a constant flow and melted the wall he was standing in front of. Justin, however, didn't run. He was just as shocked as anyone else. With Justin confused and scared they were able to come up on him and inject him with a sedative. His hands continued to produce heat in his sleep but to a much milder degree. The people who kept him decided he was a threat to others and created the gloves that he now wears at all times. No one has yet been killed by his ability and they wish to keep it that way. However, one of the nurses at the facility he was at was badly burned and half of her body is scared for life during one of his uncontrolled anger fits while locked away. This was, of course, a complete accident but Justin still feels horrible about what happened and for this reason keeps on his gloves at all times.
Quirks/Extras (Random fun facts about your character!): He is a rugby player and enjoys it a lot during his free time. He takes business classes for now and partically owns his deceased fathers company that was left to him after his father died.
