Craig Tyler [Ice]
Posted: Thu Jun 23, 2011 11:34 pm
Name: Craig Tyler
Alias: Ice or Icecube
Age: 19
Date of Birth: November 29
Hometown: Chicago
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 145 lbs.
Hair Color: Blond
Eye Color: Azure
Nationality/Race: Caucasian
Occupation: Guitarist for the band 'Leather Belt' an 80's retro band.
Personality Profile: Shy, distrustful - nice once he's known. Takes a while to warm up to people.
Physical Description: Standing at 5'9" and 145 lbs Craig is a fit individual that believes in working out and maintaining a good physique.
---------------------------------
Mutation/Powers:
Primary: Cryokinesis. Craig manipulates and creates ice, his body wll be covered by it when the power is used. Somehow he converts available humidity and air moisture into ice. He can use this power for two hours before exhausting himself and needing a good meal and a night's rest to recover. In winter, he can use this power for three hours before tiring.
He has since learned subtle control to the point of being able to make basic shapes - spheres, cubes, boxes and cyllinders- in clear ice. Not quite ice sculpture, but it's a start.
Secondary: Hyper Speed. Craig has been clocked while running at 50 MPH. He is capable of more but is afraid to try to run faster. His limit would be around 90-100 MPH.
Tertiary: Self-healing. Can regenerate wounds, small cuts and scrapes rapidly, bruises and larger cuts within a day, anything else takes between a week and month depending on severity.
Drawbacks/Weaknesses: Chicago-style pizza. Lou Malnati's specifically.
How do you believe this character's powers will further develop in the future? Craig will gain more control over his powers, eventually being able to minutely control his Cryokinesis and possibly surpass the 100 MPH barrier that he currently has placed in his mind.
Background:
Craig grew up in the midwest, a native of Chicago, raised by Terry and Glory in the comfort of a wonderful home. Craig's parents were repair technicians, working locally to keep the city of Chicago running efficiently.
Going to the better schools, Craig quickly found himself ahead of his classmates and was moved ahead in his classes. His class mates were jealous and teased him incessantly about his smarts, so Craig withdrew into himself and became quite shy and introverted.
Craig's mutation wasn't known to his parents until three years ago when his room was suddenly ice cold. They looked in to see Craig smiling, encased in a blue ice form. He shifted back and the room warmed quickly once more. After three more years of trying to home school him, his parents signed Craig up for Cobalt Hill Academy and sent their child to Salem in hopes that they could teach their son power control.
Now, scared and on his own, Craig attends Cobalt, hoping to make it - the curriculum is simple - the social interaction is not. He's made himself a sort of class clown and has won over new friends.
Quirks/Extras (Random fun facts about your character!): Hobbies: Reading (sci-fi mostly), playing guitar, video games, poetry. He's an accomplished songwriter, though most of his material is dark since his sister's death.
