Post by Corty »

Player Nickname: Corty

Name: Loren Ann Scott
Codename: Plague
Age: 18
Date of Birth: 12/12/93

Height: 5'6
Weight: 135
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Brown
Place of Origin: St. Louis, Mo
Nationality/Race: Icelandic
Classification: Mutant

Status: Refugee
Occupation: Coffee barista/waitress

Personality Profile: She's got a big heart, wanting to save the world... She spends a lot of time on her hair, but not a lot of time with make-up. Generally, nice to everyone, although she seems to have a problem with holding a grudge against people who do wrong against her or the less fortunate. She doesn't talk a lot to people, maybe just simple greetings and manner phrases., until she feels more comfortable. Loren believes in "religious tolerance," possibly due to the fact she is "in the broom closet."

Physical Description:

---------------------------------

Powerset: Empath/Healer

Ability One: (Pain empath(Uncontrollable)- Plague can literally feel physical pain of the people that are around her, and can pinpoint it to specific people. Not so much in the specific areas of injury, but she feels it all over her body. To describe it, she'd feel as if there were a sudden increase of gravity on her body. Or perhaps, it is draining the energy out of her. In severe cases, she has passed out from the intensity of someone else's pain, though usually she gets extremely tired or has nose bleeds.

Ability Two: Healing touch: She can heal things from minor scratches up to fractured bones. She must be touching the wounded area on the person, sending her own energy over the wounds of the other and can send their cells into working in overdrive for knitting the wounds together and thus rapid healing. Depending on the extent of the damage, it will drain the energy from her, either leading to lethargy and even to passing out. Her healing can even be used to speed the bodies natural process, but she doesn't know when to stop healing other than to stop touching the injured person.

Ability Three: N/A

Drawbacks & Weaknesses: Intense pain within 25ft of her can render her unconcious. She has massive headaches, nosebleeds, fainting spells, moments of dizziness. She cannot bring a person back from the dead, she cannot save a person who is already dying, she cannot heal diseases/colds, and she cannot regenerate limbs that have been lost. Loren fears that one day, healing others will kill her, and she limits herself from using the healing unless it is dire.
Projected Power Growth & Development: I'd like to expand her healing touch to being able to cure even colds, and for it to not drain her into the point of passing out; her empathy at least to the point that it doesn't cause her to pass out.

Skills: Boxing, yellow belt in tae kwon do. First aid. Mechanicing.

Background: *Pre-Powers: Loren was born on Dec 12th 1993, though her mother gave her up for adoption. She spent 7 years in the orphanage, not speaking to anyone, and clinging to a worn out tiger with a dog's choke chain around it's neck. She was labelled as a "mute" child, and special needs children don't get adopted as fast. A couple in their late 30's, Montgomery and Brenda Scott, visited Loren multiple times and adopted her around her 8th birthday. She continued to not speak to anyone outside of their home for years.

*The activation: Weeks after her 13th birthday, a lady approached her and Brenda out shopping; the woman was loudly proclaiming about Loren looking like her baby girl, screaming at and hitting Brenda for "kidnapping her daughter." Slowly, Loren started to feel heavy, thinking she was going to pass out. Her body ached all over as she sunk to sit down on the ground, not realizing she could feel the pain of every scratching and hit the strange woman laid on Brenda. The strange woman hit and clawed at Brenda until she was satisfied that Brenda wasn't getting back up; she grabbed Loren and tried to pull her with away, instead Loren bit the lady as hard as she could. Then struggling to crawl over to where Brenda laid, people were shouting, trying to pull the hysterical woman away from Loren. Once next to Brenda, Loren tried to shake her mother to get up "We've got to go.." She whispered to her mother, the only mother she'd ever known. Brenda wasn't dead, just stunned. Through Loren's tears, and her hands covering some of the deeper scratches, trying to stop the bleeding she thought. People around her were calling 911 for help. The scratches underneath her hands started reducing with an alarming speed before completely healing, then the other bruises and areas healed. Loren stared in shock, a trail of blood running down her lip from her nose as she didn't understand what exactly was happening, but it was too late to figure that out when she slumped over unconcious.

*Life with powers: Loren woke up in the hospital with her parents watching her, concerned. She'd been sleeping for 3 days. She blinked at them, confused for a moment as they asked her questions quickly as if she'd answer in a public place. She had no clue what happened, just thought she'd passed out. But her parents went on and on about the "witch child" or "miracle child," depending on their view of the event. She spent the next week in the hospital, the doctor wanted to keep an eye on her, to make sure she made a good recovery. Her mother hovered closely, making sure she knew everything that happened. Her father wanted to take her to "fix" everyone in the hospital. Loren stayed unconcious for most of her stay though, all the pain around her kept draining her energy. She was perfectly normal, except for the fact she couldn't regain her energy in a place that held so much pain. Brenda tried taking Loren to different doctors to find a "cure" for her situation. Each different doctor had a different medicine that was supposed to fix her "hallucinations." In truth, everything just made her feel sicker, she'd never taken so much medicine in her life, for stupid and irrelevant things. Montgomery finally put an end to the use of anxiety and anti depressants on his daughter, and Loren was happy to have someone on her side. Years went by, the pain continued to weigh on her, and she figured it'd never go away, so they made up some story about she had these symptoms from stress. Her father referred to her as his "miracle," and often tried to get Loren to progress into on command healing by shooting himself in the foot, or cutting open his hand. Her mother didn't like to talk about what happened that day, or even if she'd ever be able to do it again. But with her father's odd obsession, she did learn to heal on command, the "pain weight," as she called it, never went away. Since Loren was homeschooled anyways, she had a lot of time on her hands to do her father's requests. Also having graduated from high school at 16, she studied college courses online or taking a few classroom courses, and worked a part-time job at a local coffee shop. Two years of doing this, and dealing with the "random" nose bleeds, headaches, or passing out; she decided that maybe...just maybe it was time to look into get real help with her "plague.
