Personality Profile: Nicholas is charming, loud and impulsive, driven by endless energy. Yet he is often detached, prone to be spacey. Although Nicholas cannot surpass the limits of the human body in terms of maximum capacity, no evidence has emerged to suggest his endurance has any breaking point. This allows him to sprint without breaking pace, to bench his peak relentlessly and has generally ensured he was never picked last in gym class.

Nicholas’ body processes energy in an incredibly efficient fashion, which keeps him incredibly fit, while also allowing him to effect rapid change in his body's strengths when training new movements. His daily caloric intake would make an Olympic swimmer blush.

An identifiable tertiary power has yet to emerge, though one expert analysis of Nicholas’ abilities suggested he had above-average brain wave activity, his cognitive functions seemingly resistant to the usual lulls. With the exception of a few restful moments under heavy experimental sedation, Nicholas has not slept since age 14. Nicholas hid this fact for most of his life, until the tests revealed his mutation. While he was often caught up at night, it was attributed to his hyperactivity, and no one thought to imagine that he never actually slept between those red-handed episodes. While his mutant stamina makes this less painful for him, he has slowly begun to notice the toll that not sleeping is taking on him. He often finds himself lost in day dreams, detached from his surroundings, and the occasional hallucinations have not been helpful with the peripheral anxiety and paranoia.

As the nature of Nicholas’ mental abilities become clearer, he may discover more creative ways to manipulate his mutations. Conversely, his continued lack of sleep may render him less mentally stable as time goes on.
Background:
Nicholas Evans was born to an affluent family in Providence, Rhode Island and grew up in a life of privilege. Handsome, quick-witted and athletic from a young age, his peers flocked to him. He maintained excellent grades throughout his private schooling and set records year after year for track and all manner of team sports. When he finished high school as a varsity sports star with a stunning academic record, a full scholarship to Harvard seemed obvious. There he continued to set new bars and became a popular figure in the sport clubs.
But this lifelong trajectory towards success was abruptly ended in the wake of a steroid scandal levied by the coach of an imposing soccer team. Nicholas’ reputation had proceeded him and one sore loser had snowballed into another. While he didn't test positive for steroids, the tests did highlight certain irregularities that led Nicholas’ parents to pay for the extensive study that revealed the nature of his powers. In a hamfisted attempt to defend their son’s character, Nicholas’ parents revealed this fact to a Dean, who summarily stripped Nicholas of his records and expelled him from the school. The story caught on in local media and reached back to his hometown, starting a chain reaction that saw an entire childhood of successes revoked.
Stripped of the identity that had defined him, Nicholas transferred to Cobalt Academy to start again and learn what it means to be a mutant.
