Personality Profile: Badger is out going and friendly, he’s also studious when he has to be. Badger as a Shaman sees to the needs of those he considers his family and community, which naturally he considers almost all that reside at Cobalt. He is thoughtful and would rather try to talk things out than engage in combat.

Physical Description: He is short broad with compact muscle in massive quantities his entire body is covered by fur with prominent tufts on his forearms and lower legs. He wields claws on both his hands and feet. His feet have a semi opposable thumb at the heel instead of a large human toe that allows him to grip and use his feet as hands. His most prominent unusual feature is a 7 foot long tail that is strong enough to hold his own weight as well as 400 pounds more and can be used in combat to trip, or to curl around someone to keep them warm.

General Power Information:Badgers Powers coincide with his apparently natural form, that of a Badger with enhanced strength, sense of smell, and hearing.

Ability One: Heightened sense of Smell and Hearing : Badgers natural mutations were due to his environment. His olfactory abilities allow him to track prey through some of the most inhospitable of environments. With a sense of smell surpassing that of the turkey vulture who has the capacity to scent from over 10 miles away.
His hearing is supernaturally acute as well and coupled with his rotoscoping ears he can hear in almost any direction around him.(rotoscopic means he can swivel his ears like that of a dog or cat to pick up faint sound from most directions) Basically if a mouse farts in the forest anywhere near him he'll hear it.


Ability Two: Enhanced Strength : Dense bone and muscle give him enhanced strength, however this does not enhance his resistance to harm bullets and physical injury still hurts his body. His density is approximately 3 times that of normal humans. His maximum lifting weight is around 4 Tons. His main use of his strength is his extraordinary leaping ability (the ability to leap up to the second story or laterally 30 feet if need to.) and to put power behind his punches and kicks.


Ability Three: Healing Factor - Major: His ability to heal himself has unknown limits simple cuts bruises and the like are healed very quickly gunshots and major damage such as broken bones, evisceration, and damage to his major organs take longer. The worse the damage the more time and in extreme cases he goes into what he terms hibernation while his body repairs itself. For example if he were to be hit by a truck and survive, it would take several weeks to repair all of the damage done. It isn’t to say that his regenerative abilities make him immortal, far from it he can die like anyone else it just takes a lot more to than a normal person. His healing ability does slow his aging possess as well. He has the body of an adult in peak physical condition, and it’s any ones guess how old he really is… and he isn’t telling even if he does know


Drawbacks & Weaknesses: Like most feral mutants (i.e. Anthromorphs ) Can lose control and go into an animal rage. This he keeps in check at all times knowing what he can be come and has done in the past. Also his heightened senses can be as much a hindrance as a boon sudden very loud noises can mess up his hearing, and strong scents especially ones involving pheromones’ (like in most expensive perfumes) can make him do things he usually wouldn’t. Also Strong scents can mess with his ability to track if he gets them up his nose.

Skills: Badger is a very good dancer and player of simple instruments like the flute, drum, and other native American instruments. He also is a pretty good cook in the foods of his Native people as well as throws a mean pizza. Badgers outdoors life has made him an expert tracker in the field as well as a good hunter if he needs be, with skill of the weapons of his people more to the point the spear compound bow and knife. His shamanist training also gives him skill with healing herbs, while not a doctor he can concoct a tincture that will make you feel funky for a few hours or alleviate pain.


Background: Born somewhere in the Yukon Territory of Canada. He was actually a foundling during a deep winter blizzard, taken in by the old shaman IronCrow who raised him as her own grandchild along beside her own blood. She claimed he was a gift from the spirits, being the embodiment of one of the tribe’s totems. He grew up knowing only the tribe as his family and having little to do with the peoples outside the people he dwelt with.
Until at some point he encountered the White people also inhabiting the area, they immediately saw him as a monster some sort of stunted big foot creature and they wanted to bring him back in a cage to show him off to the world at large. A chase ensued and Badgers natural instincts beginning to kick in finally one got off a lucky rifle shot and struck the boy in the shoulder and everything went red…
When he could remember again he was covered with blood in the middle of the remains of the men and their truck. He was sick and horrified at what he had done. Found by the tribe and the local authorities at the same time all were shocked at the ferocity displayed in the carnage.
National Canadian authorities were called in to the situation finally after months of investigation the authorities determined he had attacked the men in self defense and no charges were filed against him. Badger didn’t feel that he was defending himself he saw the potential in himself to do great harm to a great many people. For a time he sequestered himself away from his family and the tribe to try to come to terms with what he had done.
Time passed as it always does and he rejoined his people they accepted him beck with open hearts and arms, seeing not a monster but one of their own. Over the course of several years he traveled and has intimate contact with other Amerindian tribes in Canada having learned the ways of nature and that of the peoples therein, He’s completely at home in the wilds, able to live off the land without help. He’s traveled the Canadian and Alaskan wilderness extensively; however he considers civilization just a different kind of wilderness with its dangers and unknowns. Since his physical looks are exotic to say the best he tends to keep himself hidden around most people as some would consider him a freak at best or a demon at worst.

When he first came to Cobalt Hill to study he feared those there would ridicule or ostracize him for what some termed physical ‘deformities’. He was more than a little surprised to find that he was accepted by most if not all in the school (some had difficulty coming to terms with the fact he was smiling not because he wanted to rip their throats out but he was happy to meet them… he has since learned not to show not so many teeth when he smiles.)
He made friends at the school and even was seeing one of the other students for a time. He met Shannon one of his fellow students seeing a kindred spirit in her they grew close as time went by and at one point he proposed marriage to her, but his repeated departures made it virtually impossible to carry on their relationship.
After finishing his schooling in Amerindian studies he stayed on as part of the security staff, and something of a life counselor that people could come to if they needed to just talk.
Badger has departed the facility on a number of occasions to go back to his tribes homelands for one reason or another. The latest he mysteriously disappeared before the destruction of the school and the major changes to the policy and the creation of a mutant sanctuary, to see off his mentor Ironcrow as she passed away, she chose his spiritual brother Thomas to succeed her as the tribes shaman telling Badger his path led elsewhere. He went on a spirit quest across the wilds of the north having a number of visions on his trip. Finally he began to understand his place in the world.
Returning home he packed the few belongings he possessed there, and departed telling the tribe if ever they needed him just call for him. He made his way south and east again crossing the border into the United States, moving across the countryside until he reached Salem Massachusetts and his second home Cobalt. Much had changed in his time away and things were moving in the world now that intrigued and worried him. It was time to do what he had to to protect those he saw as his family.


Criminal Record: None known the only thing on his record was the self defense note on his government file.

Quirks, Extras, Random Character Facts: A fully trained and practicing shaman he looks to nature to help him. he is always observing the world around him no matter how strange it gets.
