***FLASH TRAFFIC***

Reports suggested that a rogue General with strong communist ties was conducting experiments at a hidden facility inside the Russian Federation. While it was unknown exactly what the nature of these experiments were, NSA satellites had overflown the area and were increasingly detecting huge power surges in the terawatt ranges. These power surges are what brought the site to their attention. Satellite imagery showed the heat being generated by the facility's power plant had increased dramatically over the past 72 hours, and suggested that the experiments, whatever they are, had entered a new phase.

0600 local time - Artic Circle, 400 kilometers inside Russian Federation territory

SFC Black, SSG Walters, SGT Vazquez, SGT Williams, SGT Davies and SGT Vincent made their way across the open snowfield at a brisk clip, each of them towed a small sled behind him that contained the majority of their gear. Each was wearing overwhites to help blend into the terrain, and the sleds were also covered in a white fabric to avoid visual spotting.

Three hours ago, they had been inserted into Russian territory on a clandestine mission. The team consisted of four men and two women, each one a successful graduate from the 'Rising Patriot' program. Currently, the team was arranged as a standard OD-A team, with SFC Black as NCOIC (Non Commissioned Officer in Charge) and weapons sergeant, SSG Walters was the operations/intel NCO as well as the team medic, SGTs Vazquez and Williams were both weapons Sergeants, with Vazquez also trained as a medic, and Williams trained as a intel specialist, Davies and Vincent were their communications specialists and combat engineers.

In a little less than an hour, they will have reached the tree line, and be considerably more safe from detection, both from the air and the ground. Beneath their overwhites, each of the Soldiers wore a mottled camoflauge uniform that would blend into the mixed forest very easily. Surprisingly, none of the Soldiers wore much beyond gloves and face masks for warmth, though due to the program that had produced them, perhaps it wasn't so surprising afterall...

Ditching the skiis and the sleds, the team set about burying their unnecessary equipment under the sleds. They still had twenty kilometers to travel to the destination, but it had been determined that the safest plan was to approach by steath on foot, infiltrate the installation, gather information, and if possible... deal with the General and his experiments. Permenantly.
And the voice of the lord said: Whom shall go for Us? Whom shall We send?

And I heard my own voice reply: I will go. Send Me.
