News - Bank Robbery

Judge Judy is unexpectedly interrupted, with local anchor extraordinaire Peter Mansbridge appearing on screen. His hair is slicked back with so much grease it can be seen leaking into his caked-on makeup.

"We interrupt the regularly scheduled program," he stated the blatant in an obviously rehearsed voice, "to bring you some breaking news. Four Boston-area banks are currently under simultaneous siege, each not more than a block from each other. Police are on the scene, but are stretched thin between each scene." The camera cuts between the scene of the outside of each bank, squad cars parked in a haphazard barrier in front of the four buildings. "These attacks seem to be a coordinated effort, as the alarms for each bank was triggered simultaneously, and seemingly deliberately."

The camera returns to the newsroom, though a small window in the corner keeps the action on screen. "The firepower of these criminals also suggests some sort of financial backing, possibly terrorist." Because that always spelled news-gold. The view returns to one of the banks just in time for a few heavily armed men, each of them fairly large and toting large stereotypical duffel bags, exit the building, with a comparatively smaller man in tow. "It.. it appears that they've given up already?" the confused anchor offers as play-by-play. "They've dropped what I can only guess are bags full of the money of honest, hard-working people. Perhaps they've decided their life of crime simply wasn't worth it in the face of Boston's finest. These criminals are sure to spend quite a bit of time behind-" but he's cut off when the smaller accomplice takes hold of the bags and disappears from view. Not that he ran back inside, or found cover somewhere outside of the back - he simply wasn't there from one second to the next. "This.. I can't believe this!" the anchor sounds much more excited than he should have been. "It appears mutants were behind these heists! The smaller terrorists seem to have made off with the loot, and left his cohorts to take the heat!" Which is exactly what happened next - since they weren't threatening hostages, and they were already caught off guard by one of their own disappearing, the waiting police force stormed in and made their arrests.

The camera once more returns to the newsroom, with a view of the scene left in one corner, and Peter Mansbridge looking perturbed. "Well.. our thanks to the men and women of the Boston police force for bringing this situation to a quick and bloodless end. We'll report updates as they come. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program." As the newsroom fades out, Judge Judy fades back in, screeching in the face of logic in favor of ratings.
