Closure of the Academy

Closure of the Academy

Postby Remu » Fri Aug 26, 2011 9:37 pm

On the evening of August 26th, Dean Matias Santiago called an assembly to deliver an annoucement that would no doubt shock those who called Cobalt Academy home -- the school was closing. Following the August 24th attack, the dean reported that the school had lost almost all of its funding between benefactors cutting ties and students being pulled out. It was then announced that META would be stepping in and offering aid, but only under certain conditions.

No longer would Cobalt Academy serve as a school, but a dedicated mutant haven and training facility. With its numbers cut so drastically, small, private classes are being offered for those still in high school, but they will need to seek their college educations elsewhere. Anyone who chooses to stay at the Cobalt facility will need to contribute to it in some way. This varies; individuals can choose to serve on what is currently the school's X-team, provide services to the facility, serve as a caretaker for young children seeking refuge, or any other number of jobs. Residents offering monetary donations in lieu of services are also welcome.

Construction of the facility is said to begin on the first of September.
