Physical Description:
In her human form, Shannon is a plain looking girl. She has vivid green eyes and straight shoulder length light brown hair. She's fairly small and skinny looking, almost waifish with a pale complexion. Without a dampener, Shannon vaguely resembles a human in form but composed entirely of a glowing green energy of a fluctuating form. It is not often that she lets people see her like this, preferring to stay inside her armor even though the risk exposing others to her radiation is somewhat diminished now thanks to intense training and being more capable of holding in her potency. Her suited form is a lightweight gold and bronze colored fully articulated full-body armor. This suit has a feature where it compacts into a small hip pack for easy travel when she goes human and can even stay with her while energy to help her maintain a definite form.

Powerset: Radiokinesis

Primary: Radioactive energy creation and control:
Shannon can create radiation usually in the form of glowing green blasts which she can fire off, through her hands. Such a power is a serious danger to everything around her. So Shannon doesn't use it unless she is wearing a specially designed armored suit that filters and modifies the energy to the point where it's mostly a concussive blast, though some secondary effects may include burns or in rarer cases nausea, vomiting, and even hair loss.

Along with the limited control of her own radiation (the part that makes up her body), Shannon can also manipulate the radiation that's normally already present in the air (and even see using some of them. See tertiary). She could effectively microwave food or block UV for example.

Secondary: Radiation Form:
Shannon is composed entirely of the energy she controls. She still has fine control of it in every way except for the potency of her form. This energy doesn't weigh a whole lot if anything, Shannon’s form grants her the ability to fly through a propelled float.

Tertiary: Radioactive Senses: Though Shannon has lost the senses of taste, touch, and smell, she can still use them to some degree. She knows if other sources of radiation are around and can feed/gain energy off of them/interact with them. Shannon can see on different spectrums including X-ray, UV, and Infrared radiation, and lastly, she can hear radio waves. Or Shannon could cause interference in communication devices if she's not careful. And though she hasn't tried it out yet, Shannon could understandably speak through radios or even play the received waves.

Drawbacks/Weaknesses:
  • Shannon cannot pass for human without a dampener or be around others without one or her suit.
  • Her transformation has cost her the senses of touch, (sensation really. She can tell if something is soft or hard, smooth or pointy, etc. But she cannot feel it.) Taste, and smell.
  • Extremely dense materials such as lead, concrete, graphite, etc. While it's not a "werewolf/silver" effect as Shannon can handle these materials without getting burned, being harmed by it will cause her pain, even in her energy state (and it is easier for her to contract lead poisoning than it would be for most people.)
  • Electricity and certain sound frequencies tend to make her feel uncomfortable or to the furthest range, temporarily disrupt her cohesion.
  • When not properly dampened, Shannon needs to wear her suit all the time.
  • Prior to becoming energy, Shannon's body had come to rely on her powers to kill any bodily invaders. The radiation prevented her from getting sick, but at the same time, it weakened her body's more natural defenses. If Shannon is completely dampened for too long she will fall victim to anything that might attack her weakened immune system.

Background: A Cobalt graduate and one of the many students the school has helped in the past. Shannon was a hard case, not because of trouble making, she was a good kid and understood the threat of her powers. She needed the schooling and technological access Cobalt provided to get a solid hold on her energy. During her time in Cobalt Shannon was a rising star on their Team and even a reluctant leader for a time. She preferred non-violent means to end fights and would often only use her powers as a last resort.

After some time traveling, getting married, and being on a real SuperHero team for a short period, Shannon decided to move back to Salem and Cobalt for some comparative quiet. She wanted to revisit the place where she met her beloved Badger and help out training the new kids.

Quirks/Extras (Special skills, links, etc.):
  • her energy form has effectively stopped her aging.
  • She cannot, and does not need to eat. She also cannot smell or feel.
  • When in a good mood, Shannon tends to float rather than walk around.
  • She powers her suit's containment abilities herself, giving the excess energy she is constantly producing a place to go.
  • Her favorite enhancement to her suit is the ability to show emotion using the movements of her helmet’s earpieces, and a shield on the visor so she can blink and close her eyes.
  • Special tips on the suit's fingers help her to manipulate small objects and use touchscreens.
  • Shannon can become human again using a dampener, usually a necklace or bracelet of some sort, but also her suit in its hip pack form. While she could become human in form with it again, the process of forcing her normally plasma-like body to become solid and stay solid is quite painful. Add in sensory overload from suddenly being able to feel and smell again and the discomfort is even greater.
  • Her time as a human is limited depending on how severe the dampening and much activity she does. Too much physical stimulation/activity and using her powers as a human affects this time.
  • Shannon knows her limits and when to turn back, if she tries to overstay time in human form, (on partial dampening) she’ll start to become depressed at first and then physically ill. Depending on how long she stays human effects how long she needs to rest before changing again. On full dampening Shannon, like all mutants could go indefinitely, though as stated before it wouldn't be healthy for her to do so and the depression will still occur.
  • Yes she is capable of once again eating while human with no adverse effects upon returning to “normal.”
  • While not a power, when Shannon goes human she is often oversensitive to getting back the senses of touch, smell, and taste. Sometimes even talking excitedly about the experience.
  • Shannon enjoyed a painfully short marriage to James Horatio Eagleswing, aka Badger. They have one child, Robin, Born April 19th 2016.
  • Robin's existence was possible with great difficulty and the effort of being dampened for the gestation and birth nearly killed Shannon.
