BLURB: What IS Freeform Roleplay, anyway?

This is something relevant to the channel, since a lot of people seem to misunderstand what we're about. I agree with this wholeheartedly.

Here's what FFRP isn't. FFRP isn't a competitive game. It's not about leveling up, being the most powerful, or winning. It's not about whose character is the best, or whose is the most important. It's not a competition between people running storylines, and the players involved with them. Here's what FFRP is. For lack of a better term, it's cooperative storytelling. The idea is that all players, whether they're playing villains or heroes, are cooperating to make the most interesting, best stories that they can. It's about interaction, and an understanding between all players that everyone can and should contribute to the stories being told.

Because we have no dice or levels here, we generally depend on everyone's ability to help contribute to a story, great or small. That's what we are, and that's what we do. Not every story is going to involve slinging guns or saving the world. Some are smaller, some are larger, some are more personal. If you're just looking to kill the monster of the week and bounce, you might want to look elsewhere.
