Personality Profile: (Your character's personality, mindset, worldviews, etc.) David Renstar isn’t a bad guy. Maybe there was a bank robbery or two, or three. Okay, it was ten. But a job's a job, right? That's the attitude he takes to his life. As Dave, he's an amiable man with a soft heart who typically can be found drinking a beer or reading a book out on his front porch. He can typically be seen with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye, and he appears to be loving life.

As Jay Star, he's a loudmouthed punk who can't resist making fun of everyone around him, often attempting to be the smartest man in the room, and bragging about it if he is. When someone gets to know Dave under his Jay Star persona while also having known Dave beforehand, the facade that is Dave Renstar’s personality quickly falls apart. He proves himself to be more cynical, angry, and brash than he would appear on the surface. He often shows outright disregard for the safety of himself and others.

Physical Description: Most people who glance at Dave on the street would only describe him as “intimidating”. His six-foot-four stature and borderline bodybuilder level physique is imposing and entirely contrasts with the personality he chooses to show in public. He has relatively short-cut dark brown hair with noticeable stubble near the chin and upper lip. He has a tendency to dress warm, often going for fur bomber jackets over his basic t-shirt and jeans combination.

As Jay Star, he wears a specialized helmet full-face motorcycle helmet that he painted and designed himself, a grey spike-studded wool jacket, a black fitted tank top, riding gloves, track pants, and winter combat boots.

General Power Information: Skill Mimicry/Retaining

Ability One: Quick Learner - Dave is able to learn techniques and skills by simply watching others perform them. For instance, if he were to watch a gymnast perform a difficult stunt that took them years to master, he would be able to replicate it in an instant. This is entirely limited to physical feats and does not extend to feats of the mind. If Dave were to watch someone play a game of chess, he would only learn the exact motions they use to put their pieces in place and not the mind games being played. Superhuman abilities are also entirely out of Dave’s reach, as they are something beyond physical techniques and skills.

Ability Two: Muscle Memory - Every time he performs an action, he becomes capable of doing it faster or more powerfully the next time he does it, up to a certain extent. He can never perform the actions faster or stronger than humanly possible, but this ability allows him to reach peak human performance in skills much quicker than a regular human could.

Ability Three: N/A

Drawbacks & Weaknesses: At the end of the day, Dave is still mostly human. He’s not any more durable than a regular human of his size. Though his endurance and strength may be increased due to the techniques he’s learned, he still struggles to keep up with those who are superhuman in those categories. His abilities only teach him techniques, they do not make him Superman. In combat situations with people faster or stronger than him, he is very easy to outperform, making him not very viable to deal with legitimate threats or people who are beyond ordinary.

Skills: Dave tends to excel at quieter activities, like fishing and cooking. However, once he’s in the gym, it’s hard to see his form and technique as anything but entirely perfect.

Background: Dave Renstar was born to the Renstar family, a snobbish rich New York family that absolutely despised anything that wasn’t the norm for them, especially Mutants and the like. As Dave grew, he quickly learned about his mutant powers and decided to keep them hidden from his family for fear of being disowned, or worse. During this time, he and his father would watch a lot of combat sports, such as MMA, from which Dave unknowingly learned how to fight.

Eventually, he was found out. He took a few wrong turns on the way home from school one day, eventually being cornered by a pair of punks who recognized his rich blood and decided to send the Renstars a message. Dave fought back with the techniques he had learned by simply watching people fight and easily took both of them down.

Word of this event did quite quickly carry to his parents’ ears. They were curious to know how their at the time 12-year-old son had learned how to fight so well.

Rather than brushing it off and saying he paid extra attention to those matches they watched, Dave stupidly confessed about the abilities he'd been hiding. Disgusted, his family cast him out, calling him a freak.

He was given to a foster home, where his resentment for the rich elite such as the family he came from grew. He watched a bunch of crime flicks, things about robbery, anything he could get his hands on. This all, of course, complemented by continuing to watch combat sports.

At age 18, he committed his first bank robbery. Completely masked, and armed with nothing but a pistol, Jay Star's debut earned Dave five hundred thousand dollars.

Soon after this, he moved out to Salem, Massachusetts for not many reasons other than he just hated New York, or so he said.

Criminal Record: As of yet, Dave has not been caught as Jay Star, and has never had any blemishes on his criminal record.

Quirks, Extras, Random Character Facts:
- Despite half of the reason he watches combat sports being to learn fighting technique, he enjoys it immensely and will get wrapped up in the matches he watches.

- Cooking is one of his absolute favourite things to do. It takes his mind away from the Jay Star persona for a while and allows him to just make something. Plus, he enjoys eating, so the end result is always something for him to enjoy. He gets excited upon seeing new ways to cook certain food and will not hesitate to break his comfort zone.

- Being a big fan of combat sports, Dave has grown a love for professional wrestling, though he is well aware that it's fake.

- While not a heavy drinker, Dave seems to really, really like beer.
